The actual files RedHat uses are in /etc/sysconfig; look at
/etc/sysconfig/network for the default gateway setup and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 for the ethernet setup.  It
probably is easier to do it through Linuxconf, though.
