Exact costs are difficult to give you since some costs will depend on the value of the dollar vis-a-vis the guilder in July and since the lodging has not yet been worked out. However, I wanted to let you know at this point the approximate dates and costs since I want to give Urban Studies majors the first chance to reserve a spot in the course. It is limited to 10 people and one spot is already reserved so there are nine left. The dates are from July 7 to July 21st. (the ending date may change by a day or two depending on air reservations, etc.) Approximate costs are: airfare $750, ground transportation $200 (this may vary by $30 or $40 either way depending on your age and how the tickets are purchased), lodging $475 to $650 -- will try to keep it as low as possible. Food -- depends on what and where you eat. I would guess you could do it for $15-$25/day. In short, the costs will likely range from $1650 to $1950. However, if the dollar falls in the coming months they could be higher. This range does not include tuition. It is a five-credit course so you need to add that on. Costs and location of lodging should be firmed up by the first of the year. However, if you can live with the somewhat general figures listed above and you are certain that you will participate please let me know and I will reserve a spot for you. If spaces exist after Jan 1 I will open it up to other students.
