The deadline for submissions to the paper is the first Tuesday of each month. Articles must be submitted on disk. We didn't have time to talk about the content of the first column, so that remains to be done before March 5th. o Pride Week - We agreed to celebrate Pride Week April 8th - 14th. Suzanne is organizing a lecture by Jeffrey Giles, a well-known scholar in the field of German history, on the topic "Pink triangle: homosexuality and the Nazis." We'd also like to show a video and possibly have other activities during that week, such as a Straight Talk panel. The video "Straight from the Heart" was suggested because it is only half an hour long, which would leave time for discussion. Suzanne will check with Beckie Etheridge about copyright restrictions on showing a copy of a video owned by the library. o Finances - Patty will check with Rebecca Gallogly about procedures for spending money, a xerox budget number, phone number, office space, postage, etc. The first purchase the group will make will be a copy of an NGLTF publication, "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Campus Organizing: A Comprehensive Manual" to be kept in the office. Tony volunteered to oversee the budget so that Patty doesn't get overwhelmed as president. o Web page - The question was raised as to whether student groups can create home pages on the UWT web server. Emily will check with Rob Hubley about this. o Establishing a list of contacts - Emily will work on this. If anyone has information about relevant groups, please pass it on to Emily, eehull@u.washington.edu. o Women's History Month - Suzanne is working on getting Kathleen Sadaat to come and speak on campus during the last week of March. o Anti-racism conference - Patty would like to attend the Building Coalitions to End Racism conference in April. We would like to also sponsor students from the Women's Network and Black Student Union. These groups will need to be contacted. o Networking with BSU - We'd like to have a relationship with BSU similar to that with the Women's Network. o Other officers - The question was raised as to whether the group should have more than one officer, so that Patty doesn't become overwhelmed. Interest has been expressed in the past by other students who weren't present on Tuesday. We'll talk about this again at the next meeting. o Next meeting - We're going to meet every Tuesday from now until at least Pride Week because every other week doesn't seem to be often enough. We'll try to have all the meetings in 701P, except for once a month at Grounds for Coffee. The next meeting is next Tuesday from 5:30 - 6:30 at Grounds for Coffee. Respectfully submitted, Emily Hull .
