The stormwater system changed from a few scattered catch basins and portable emergency pumps to a state of the art system designed to remove metals and other shipyard pollutants. The system includes sand filters, wet vaults, "Storm Treat" systems, boatwash wastewater facilities, emergency shut off gates, a storm water pump station and many other unique features necessitated by a high ground water table, adjacent wetlands and a tidal influence. .
