Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII In an effort to improve attendance at our meetings (no we haven't been meeting, but we would like to), I would like to know what days/times would work best for folks. While we will continue to work on scheduling campus events, the other members of Pride Coalition and I would like to see the group develop ongoing discussions related to heterosexism, homophobia, etc. So, in addition to letting me know when you could attend meetings, I would like to know what you would be interested in discussing. Some possibilities are: 1. Gay stereotypes and personal responses: sharing stories, asking questions, and discussing the links between stereotyping and prejudice 2. Why would a heterosexual person care about the struggle for equal rights for gay people? 3. Media day: bring examples of newspaper articles, ads, TV shows, movies -- a chance to think crticially about media images and coverage of sexual minority people 4. How to respond when anti-gay arguments use the Bible or religion. 5.. Racism and Heterosexism 6. Gender identity and sexual orientation 7. Internalized homophobia and anti-gay prejudice 8.
