EWU results were pretty good all things considered. Alysha was the only one of the women to make the trip which saved us big points since she pulled out a second in the crit. and the road race. Sadly though only two other women competed. For our Men's B race we fielded one body the "tough as nails" Slick Rick / Sparky Vanderhoofer who hammered as always goin for the gusto and pulled out a 4th and a 5th in the crit and road race respectively I think. In the men's A one Husky rider with A experience Scott led myself(Mark A.), Mike M., Ethan (Evil K'neval), and Mountain Boy Jan Heine Husky tradition was held up in impressive fashion by Scott who when lapping the field flew by the pack losing his breakaway gang of 5 others and getting some blocking from his newbies. He got a great pull from Jan to just before the finish and won the sprint and took 1st. I lucked out and stayed up for a 9th and a couple points. The other teams must be getting about tired of this lap the field finish first Husky crap. They thought they were getting a break, I told em we been sand baggin' OOOHHHHHYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAA BBBBOOOYYEEEEE!! The road race was cool. After I went out with an OSU guy for about two laps and some too frequent attack chases I went solo off the back finishing 3:00 back or so. Jan Mike and Evil Kneval who finished in manly style T-boning some morons who after 6 times past the start finish still thought the 200 meter mark although clearly marked would be a great place to sit up during the finishing sprint so they did just that and Ethan went down with em and came away with apparently the worst injuries possibly some broken bones in the right hand. Mike was up there for 8th I think and some more valuable points. Scott strong as always managed 4th although he could have won a protest for third when an OU guy swung about 6 feet over to block him in the sprint in full view of an official who chose to put it up to Scott instead of just make the call. Scott let it slide with a dash of sportsmanship. We'll get em in La Grande. We won the Men's A and womens points all I know is UW 106, UO 99, and OSU 74 the rest of the schools were nto even close. We had a blast. We'd race A's again for ya if ya wanna stay at home and eat ice cream and potato chips or somethin. See Ya Mark A. .
