The program is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the WK Kellogg Foundation, and is administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges. The program funds community-campus partnerships that aim to recruit/retain underrepresented minorities into health professional careers. Any health professional school is eligible to apply (with the exception of schools/programs that are at the associate degree level). We anticipate that ten grants will be awarded. One-half of them are earmarked for schools/programs in public health. The partnerships must include at least two health professional schools, the pre-professional program of at least one undergraduate college, at least one predominantly minority high school and its feeder middle schools, and at least one community based organization. Information on the current HPPI can be found on our web site: The new call for proposals will be posted there, as well, as soon as it's released. When we receive notice that the RFP is out, we will post information about it on the listserv. This might be an opportunity for an interdisciplinary group at UW to work together on a proposal. Take a look at the website and let me know what you think! These are the sorts of programs we will be even more competitive for if Partnership NW is funded! Sarena .
