Thanks, -mr ---------------------------------------------------------- Yesterday, Tuesday 9-13-94, at approximately 3 pm, the FORM virus was discovered in the 173-Wilcox computer lab. It was found on Gateway computer "W-11" (which has a sign at the top of the monitor about the new network connections). It was probably brought into the lab on a student's diskette. The infection probably occurred when the machine was rebooted or turned on with the infected disk in the A: drive. If you used this computer yesterday, PLEASE CHECK ALL YOUR DISKETTES for the FORM virus. To do this, use the F-PROT program -- It's easy, I'll show you how. Don't worry about the 'old program' messages; version 2.10c of F-PROT *will* detect and remove the FORM virus. TO AVOID INFECTING YOUR COMPUTER'S HARD DISK with viruses from diskettes, BE SURE DRIVE A: IS *EMPTY* before rebooting or turning on your computer. This will *not* prevent all infections, but it will prevent 'boot sector' infections.
