Erickson" To: uwracing@u.washington.edu Subject: Tri-Cities Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII The weekend had some high as well as some low points. Saturday was the ITT and TTT. We took 3,6,7, and 9th in the ITT. These were good enough to take the team total for men's A. However, we didn't have any women so we fell from 3rd to 5th in nat's standings. We got 3rd in the TTT. Only 7 secs. behind IDAHO. Bummer! Jason was the Ma-cheen, pulling for what must have been the last 2-3 miles. If you know what's good for you, don't do a TTT with people way stronger than yourself. Unless you're into that whole pain thing. The road race also netted some good results for the men's A squad. James got himself into an early break and was later joined by Jason and Brian. I found myself in an early negative break(a.k.a. gettin' dropped) I chased for 35 miles, including solo for 15 of 'em and made it back on with ~1 mile to go. The boys were more surprised to see me then I was to be there. Up the final hill James delegated Brian as the leadout man and that's what he did. Boy laid down the hurt on these tired old legs. This splintered the group of ten inot three groups. Jason got in the front group, James in the second, Brian and I comprised the third. We ended up 3rd, 7th, 9th and 10th or so we think. Right around there anyway. So anyway, back to my opening about the high point of the weekend. 99c whoppers and cheap mega-(silica) chakes at BK! Low point: We are throwin' in the towel for the year and will not be sending a group to Bozeman. There are races next weekend for the dirt crew and the roadies alike. An mtb race at Tahuya St. Forest and a road race from Tahuya to Seabeck and Back. Not positive on the day of either of these so check bikeride.com or bicyclepaper.com Busto .
