 RE: literary antecedents of contemporary politics

There's never been a better literary expression of "trickle-down" than the
one given by the Ragpicker in the mock trial in Jean Giraudoux's _La Folle
de Chaillot_ (posth. 1946) = the film "The Madwoman of Chaillot" (1969). In
the film, Danny Kaye (Ragpicker) gives his career performance in a dramatic
role.
