I apologize for this being so late: WAIVER CARDS AND TEAM DUES: If you want to come on rides we need you to fill out a waiver card for liability reasons. Waiver cards are a requirement of the University for all athletic clubs. This year team dues are $35. Please make the check out to: Husky Racing, then bring it to the ASUW bike shop(located in the HUB) and give it to Kevin DiMichel, the team treasurer. Team dues help pay for traveling to races in the spring and allow to you get deals on products from our sponsors (Rudy Project, Zipp Wheels, Park Tools, Polar Heart Rate monitors, Lyon frames, etc...) GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE CLUB'S PURPOSE: We are a club that teaches the bike handing skills and introduces members to racing. There are many skill levels and a racing category for each level including separate women's categories. We teach our riders basic racing tactics and the importance of working as a team. RACING REQUIREMENTS: Our only requirement is to be currently enrolled as a student (This includes undergraduate and graduate students.) TEAM RIDES: We ride every Saturday and Sunday leaving promptly @ 9:30 am from the N. end of the HUB. GENERAL COURTESY TO OTHER MEMBERS OF THE CLUB: Everyone has different experience levels. Some people have been racing since they have been 16 while others have just started. Please take advice from everyone younger or older... Also don't be alarmed if someone says something about your riding. If you make an erratic move it effects everyone and someone behind you might yell. When this happens don't take anything personally, just go and talk to them to see what you did wrong. (if your the one commenting please go talk to the person afterward and explain) Just remember everyone has different experience levels and we want everyone to be safe and friendly. SPONSORS: The park order deadline is Saturday 10-18 chrome order - email me, we can do these any time polar order - t.b.a. (Contact Jimmy: jimmyl@u.washington.edu for other more current questions about specific dates and details.) TEAM TRAINING CAMP: Training Camp: November 29th-30th Thanksgiving weekend. We will be staying at Alynda's parents house and going on rides from there. Her parents live in Stanwood (45 North of Seattle) and there are a lot of country roads with low traffic levels. Last year Alynda's mom followed us in her van with extra supplies such as Clif bars, water, Gatorade, wheels, etc.... It felt like we were on a pro team with a support car. We stopped a multiple times to fill up water bottles, get food, get rid of rain gear, eat lunch, and go to the bathroom. The rides were at an easy pace & if you got to go ride in the van for while. When we weren't riding we were sharing stories & getting to know everyone that came. A fun time was had by everyone. -- David Giraud Husky Racing Secretary and Webmaster .
