On Wednesday, March 22, a new version of the "new" account creation
utility will be installed.  This version will no longer ask for the
user's first name, but will get that first name from the validation
server.  The default name for the user will be First-initial Lastname
(e.g. Y. Karp).  The user, from the final menu, will be allowed to
change her name to either Firstname Lastname or F. Lastname.  Other
allowed permutations of firstname, including nicknames may be created
using the chfn finger information change utility.
