I have a .5GB Pen Drive (www.pendrive.com) that goes between any computers with a USB port, and at least with MacOS and Windows it is automatically recognized as an external drive. It has worked flawlessly for over a year of heavy use. I Googled "pen drive" and saw an ad for a 1GB unit for $89, and there are units up to 8GB! One thing to note is the read/write speed; better ones are noticeably faster at writing.
