Northwest Family Resource Conference: "Open Doors for Families" This June, the first-ever Northwest Family Resource Conference will be held in Seattle, Washington. The conference marks the first time the five Northwest states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington have come together to discuss how to open doors to the critical resources families need to strengthen home-life. This event will bring together a diverse group of educators, parents, policy-makers, business leaders, advocates, and health and human service providers from around the region that will share their firsthand knowledge and experience with successful programs in their communities. This conference will serve as a vehicle to demonstrate model initiatives, quality programs and current practices that can play powerful roles in enhancing the resources available to families. Conference participants will have the opportunity to attend more than 70 workshops, learn from powerful keynote presentations by nationally renowned experts on strengthening families and communities, and participate in strategy sessions with leaders from the Northwest region. On Thursday, June 2, the Work and Family Progress Awards will be presented, showcasing cutting-edge companies offering work/life benefits in support of working families.
