I was interested in getting in touch with the UW cycling team and Kevin McCune passed your name along to me. Following is some information regarding an road race I am putting together for Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery and I was wondering if you could pass this along to the cycling team e-mail list. On Tuesday, February 16, 1999 at 3 p.m. bikers from around the Seattle area will be racing from the Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in Seattle (Rainier building) to its newest location in Bellevue (106th Avenue NE). Racers will be towing a pony keg of beer. (Trailer and beer provided by us.) Police escorts and Hummer support vehicles will also be provided. The winning beer will be tapped and the proceeds will benefit Rock Bottom's charity, the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club. We are excited about involving the UW cycling team and would like to offer each participant a gift certificate for dinner for two at Rock Bottom in addition to the prizes for winning the race. I am still confirming the age requirements with the liquor control board, so contestants may have to be 21 years old. But as of right now, anyone is welcome to race. If anyone on the cycling team is interested in racing in this zany event, please have them e-mail me at carryp@richmondpr.com. I will give them all the specifics as well as a map of the route, specially designed by Seattle bike messengers. Note that I will need to have all of the contestants RSVP as soon as possible -- by Monday, January 24th 5 p.m. at the latest. Thanks for passing this info on!
