Message-Id: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Hi Everyone! Summer is over and the new school year/quarter is upon us. At the end of Spring quarter we discussed offering a mentor/guide program for interested incoming women at UWT to help answer questions, give that extra pat on the back and/or friendly ear that so many of us wish had been available our first quarter. We also discussed a planning session to organize this. I sent out a message last week looking for others who are still interested but have not heard from anyone out there. Chris Benton mentioned in an August email message that there is a Student Transition Workshop scheduled for September 28th. This would be a good place to have a table and information about what UWT Women's Network offers. I know the weather tends to put a damper (oooh) on ambition, but Labor Day is past, the kids are back in school and as we go back to UWT we need to remember how it felt to walk into Perkins or TSB the first time, for that first class, not knowing anyone and having a million questions. Let's find a way to reach out to the new students and give them a helping hand. I am willing to be at the Workshop and need to hear from some of you out there. Ideas, ideas, ideas! Please let me know via my email or the uwtwomen. Thank you for your help and input. Kathleen (Kate) Upperman .
