Thank you very much for the information on previous experience with 
GIS and indigenous peoples/knowledge.  I too am sorry you aren't here
in the Bay Area - though Austin isn't a bad place to be as I learned
from a visit and by being told.  I will post whatever documents come of
it (the meeting writeup which we insert into our newsletter, etc).

I plan to make a handout from your comments if that's ok.  I'm still
hoping Jerry Mander ("In absence of the Sacred") will miraculously
appear to speak... There are both positive and negative consequences
certainly and I will be happy if we get people to realize this and then
to scrutinize this local effort (BADGER) for its negative effects.
