Judith Halberstam is Professor or Literature in the Department of
Literature at the University of California, San Diego. She is the author
of numerous essays and books including Skin Shows (Duke University Press,
1995), Female Masculinity (1999, Duke University Press) and The Drag King
Book (Serpent's Tail, 1999). She is also co-editor with Ira Livingstone of
Posthuman Bodies (Indiana University Press, 1995).  Her essays have
appeared in Feminist Studies, GLQ, Social Text, Nineteenth Century
Studies, as well as other journals.
