It's very simple: Those who would like to sell a bike they no longer use can attend the Bike Swap Meet and sell it to one of the local used bike shops in attendance or to another individual attending the meet. Those looking to buy a used bike can purchase a bike from an individual seller. All transactions are solely between buyer and seller, and sellers are responsible for promoting their bikes for sale (with their own signs or other means) and for remaining at the meet with their bikes. Biking is a great way to get to campus and around town. Besides being an inexpensive way to commute, biking is also good exercise and helps protect our environment. The University of Washington is not responsible for the condition of bikes bought and sold at the Bike Swap Meet. Buyers are encouraged to examine the bikes to their satisfaction before buying, and to register bikes with the UW Police Department.
