Associate Dean Dunn,

	Karl Kramer, our chair, has reported to us that two weeks ago 
when he went to see you to discuss the future (or lack of such) of this 
department, your first question to him was whether anyone in the 
department had asked for early retirement yet. In the light of this 
statement, should we feel free to interpret the whole elimination bit as 
this administration's attempt to force several people from this 
department into early retirement?
