Speaking of CBC Radio, which is beginning to get a bit better of late, they also had an excellent series on Ideas this week focusing on Dante's Inferno; I only caught the middle program on the Purgatorio, but it was very well done ... Now to bring my barely-classical post back on topic, their drive home show the other day interviewed some guy who is the guru of chili peppers. He recalled the history etc. and I was somewhat surprised to learn that the Romans didn't have chilis (nor did India, for that matter ... also shocking).
