Subject: 03/20 News: News server software to change start of quarter break.

On Monday March 20th between 6am and 8am, the dnntpd news server software
will be installed for news.u and nntp1.u.  There will be short periods
during the installation in which newsreaders on campus will fail to
startup. Along with the installation of the new software, the name service
for the news.u name will change to do load based shuffling between the
hosts nntp1.u, nntp2.u and nntp3.u.  With this change, all connections to
the news servers will use the distributed NNTP software.  In addition, the
NFS serving of overview files by news.u (nntp3.u) will be dropped.

An annoucement will be posted shortly to uw.announce about these changes.
