The SPAB provides feedback and advice to UWT's student newspaper, The Ledger (see the mission statement below). Board members represent every constituency of the University of Washington, Tacoma, including students, staff, faculty, and the wider community. Applicants from all programs are welcome (including graduate programs), and no journalism experience is required. The time commitment is modest: SPAB members read the issues of The Ledger carefully and then meet twice a quarter for discussions with the SPAB and Ledger representatives. If you would like to apply or to get more information, please reply to me, Joe Sharkey (not to everyone on the mailing list), as soon as possible. The SPAB plans to receive applications until Wednesday, October 24.
