Carlson Leadership and Public Service Center, Undergraduate Education. Reference: 99-136 Description: Develop and support partnerships with communities, organizations, and institutions around the State that extend and build on the University's service learning program with Seattle area community partners. This involves working closely with UW faculty and staff and community groups, often in locations around the state, to develop and coordinate program content responsive to curricular goals, student learning interests and needs, as well as community/State issues. The position also involves the development of distance learning models that explore innovative forms of institutional partnership and effectively employ technology to support learning for students in remote settings whose faculty mentors may be on campus. Requirements: Doctorate in education, public policy, planning, or a related field. Requires two years' experience in community development and/or planning; program development/administration; and college level teaching experience. Also requires general knowledge of computing programs, including word-processing, email, Internet access, databases. Prefer experience working in the field of experiential/service learning, grant writing, rural/regional development and knowledge of instructional technologies. Equivalent education/experience may substitute for stated requirements.
