Initially the purpose seems to be sharing and centralizing enormous volumes of useful information that come out of LUG presentations and more importantly something akin to a PAC (political action committee) to provide counterpoint to politicians who get all of their information from the Microsoft's of this world. Since we obviously cannot outspend big business, the only other thing we have is the power of our numbers. So we're starting by building relationships and getting to know the other LUGs in the area. We've already established a very tight relationship with KPLUG (www.kplug.org) and are slowly but surely expanding outward. We'd love to come to your next meeting or you're welcome to come down to ours (http://www.taclug.org/meetings.php). What do you guys think? -Chuck On Mon, 4 Nov 2002, Z.
