The administration got pretty much nothing but criticism from all quarters for how the have handled the eliminations so far. Simpson was, in his usual fashion, mostly stonewalling and not really answering any questions directly or even indirectly. Whether it will all help us in our particular situation, is still quite unclear, though. Gerberding was there looking as if he was taking notes but, for all we know, he may have been doodling or planning his retirement. Future programs slated for elimination will probably benefit from this meeting much more than we will since the Faculty Code will all be rewritten. Whether the administration will follow it, rewritten or not (after all, they did not follow the one that exists now) is still a huge question. GD .
