In addition to David Meadows' list, two very recent articles in the New
York Times.

1. On Thursday, September 28, 2000, p. E2: article by Julie Flaherty, "O
Profligate Youth of Rome, Ye #*!, Ye @#! (See Footnote)", on the updating
of the Loeb Classical Library's texts and translations, esp. of
Aristophanes'. Featuring a photograph of Jeffrey Henderson, bemused.

2. On today's Sunday Times, section 2: Arts & Leisure, pp. 7 & 14: article
by Estelle Parsons, artistic director of the Actors' Studio, "Thoughts on
the Perfect Play in Rome's Colosseum", on the National Theater of Greece's
production of Oedipus Rex in Rome, Epidaurus and, coming next week, at
the City Center, NYC. Ms. Parsons compares her own forthcoming production
of the play (Al Pacino playing Oedipus) with the Greek and concludes:
"You, dear reader, must see both performances because you will never in
your life forget "Oedipus Rex" in these incarnations."
