The first phase of the composite report is being prepared by an international consultant team for the 3rd meeting of the Working Group on Article 8(j) (Jan 26-30, 2004). In order to assist the consultant team and the Executive Secretary complete this phase of the composite report, parties, governments and Indigenous and local community organizations are invited to fill in the questionnaire. The questionnaire inquires about the state of the retention of traditional biodiversity-related knowledge and aims to identify and to assess measures and initiatives to protect, promote and facilitate the use of traditional knowledge. The requested information will be compiled and analysed by the consultant team. The completed questionnaire should be submitted no later than 2 May 2003.
