It is odd that no one seems to have mentioned this on the Classics list, but
an off-list friend with Straussian connections tells me that Seth Benardete,
Professor of Classics at N.Y.U. and Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at the
New School, died on November 14th, where a memorial service will be held
this Friday, February 1st, from 3:00 to 5:00.  Details will be found at the
website some of his students have devoted to his memory:
