Contact the staff member to set up your participation: BARBARA SELEMON, NURSERY AND PROPAGATION: 685-2613 Design and Test Nursery Production Methods. Assist propagator in developing methods to stabilize container nursery. Develop improved deterrents for crow population. Design nursery growing techniques. Assist propagator in designing and testing alternative container trials to reduce root deformation. Evaluate Propagation Methods for Difficult-to-root Species. Evaluate using unconventional techniques of plant propagation. Trials may include use of subirrigation, blanching, use of A. rhizogenes. JULIE DEBARR, YOUTH & COMMUNITY EDUCATION: 543-8801 User Survery. Project to include development of Arboretum user's survey, survey distribution, and compiling and assessing results. Explorer Pack Program Expansion. Expansion of this new program of designing and creating smaller packs for use by families or groups for multiple day check-out. Would include activity development and collaboration with other organizations. Discovery Station Development. Development of 4 stations or different topics, each offering an interactive component which casual visitors would interact. Slide Show Presentations. Develop a 30-minute slide show ofr grades 3-6 and/or 8-12 that introduces the Arboretum and all its features, uses and habitats. Girl and/or Boy Scout Arboretum Badge. Research and design a program that fulfills Scout program standards. Exhibit Development and Design. Research, develop and design portable temporary exhibits on multiple topics (volunteer recruitment, seasonal plants). Curriculum Development.
