Well, it has been moved up to an earlier date, February 8-10. I hope that many of you may be able to attend. I will send out more info on it as soon as I get them in. How is everyone? I hope that everyone is doing well and that finals aren't too hard. I'm writing in regards to the Section 8 Conference. Currently, the date of the conference is February 22-24 since we've changed it due to a national board member meeting. However, as we've looked for places to hold the conference and housing in the past month, it has come to our attention that we can not have it on that date in Eugene. The University of Oregon is booked for a high school debate tournament and does not have any rooms available for any workshops or the CPW. We've looked extremely hard for different hotels that could possibly hold the conference, but there is a logger's convention that weekend as well, and most of the hotels are booked for it. The hotels we were able to contact could only offer limited spaces and the cost was extremely high. That is why we would like to change the Section 8 Conference date to February 8-10. I know that we've already changed the date once, but this date is the best one for having a conference in Eugene. Registration costs would be lower because we would be able to use rooms in the University for workshops and such, and hotel costs would be much lower as well. I am really sorry about this change, but it is the best solution we could think of. Please feel free to contact me, whether by email or phone, about suggestions, concerns, ideas, etc that you may have. Please also contact me if this change is possible at all. Thank you all so much for your support and understanding, and I look forward to seeing most, if not all, of you at the conference in Februrary. Thank you.
