If you like the rich layered sound of Failure's "Fan Plan," than definately check out anything by The Alan Parsons Project. I'd suggest the two-CD set titled "The Definitive Collection" for a nice sampler/greatest hits collection of 34 tracks spanning their 20+ years of great exploration into musical unknowns and concept albums. Another great album of theirs is their initial 1976 "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" which is inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe and features several of his poetic works set to surreal yet disturbing music (including "The Raven"; "The Tell-Tale Heart"; and "The Fall of the House of Usher"...among others). FYI: Did you know that it was Alan Parsons who did all of the sound engineering for Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon"? He's also nominated for 11 Grammys...check them out! - SHÆGGY .
