        Well, it looks as though duBois has managed to overcome her 'gender
troubled' -ness long enough to write another 'text'. Good for her! One
wonders if this book will be filled with more painstakingly wrought identity
statements and poststructuralist ramblings. All the better to confound those
wicked conservatives with!

        Why oh why are the multicultural folks so terribly eager and
passionate about embracing the equality of all cultures - except those of
the Greeks and Romans, who they always portray in ominous tones as
misogynist and racist and (horror of horrors!) capitalist?

        In any event - this ought to be entertaining reading. Thanks for the
heads-up.
