What would be the best translation: uprising, insurrection?  Or something
less literal?

I can't help thinking of the varied names for the the war here of 1861-65.
The Great Rebellion, the War Between the States, the Civil War, how many
others?  And there is the Easter Rising in Ireland.  There is much in a
name.
