I include the following from an earlier posting of mine: In about 1990 (plus or minus a couple of years) we formally offered to the Order of Chivalry in An Tir "first refusal" on admitting missile skills, rapier skills, and equestrian skills to their Order. They declined. We then presented the same offer to the Order of the Laurel. They accepted. [ LATER NOTE: It was September 1991. I quote Eduardo quoting from the minutes: For the record the minutes of Sept. Crown 1991 say..."Discussion regarding Archery, Fencing, equestrian, etc. It was decided that these are arts and sciences. Criteria to be determined later as and when necessary." ] In the summer of 1995 Master Julian Edward Farnsworth became the first person admitted to the Order of the Laurel in An Tir primarily for skill in archery (both target and combat). No one has yet been admitted to the Laurel in An Tir primarily for rapier or equestrian skills. The last sentence is of course no longer accurate as of Saturday, when Master Artimis became An Tir's first rapier Laurel. -- All my best, Thorvald Grimsson / James Prescott (PGP user) .
