I pray that His mercy is new every morning in our lives this week as we struggle with life's challenges. My devotions this week has been very special. I read Deuteronomy 16-18, and the message that I believe God has sent me is this: We are to celebrate and rejoice for He has blessed us so abundantly. The theme of the connection between God's blessing (provisions) and celebration is prevalent in 16. But then, in 17, in regards to the King, it warns against him having many horses, wives, and silver and gold. In other words, as it is proper to rejoice over His blessings, it is NOT okay to appropriate or seek so much of it as to cloud out the blesser Himself, so as to have the center or core of our love switched. Then in 18, in regards to the Levites, it says that that the Levites are not to have any inheritance (land) among their fellowmen because God Himself is to be their inheritance. I thought and prayed hard about the implications of it all. God spoke to me that this means no possessiveness, no striving attitude, no competitiveness, in so far these reflect the change of our uttermost allegiance for life and strength. We are all royal priests of God through the work of Christ. I'm very thankful that God has once again revealed His supremacy and primacy for our ultimate trust and joy. In His presence, we can let go. We can experience true peace and joy. Joy that does not grab but receive. Thank God who opens such avenues to truly worship Him. Reflecting on it, I would have it no other way. It is the finest way, and for that, He is to be much praised!! Let's continue to pray for one another this week that He would be truly loved and exalted in our lives this week. Thanks for letting me share!! Simon. ^_^ .
