In order to be a volunteer, they need to give Alice the following 6 pieces of information: 1. full name 2. mailing address 3. telephone number 4. birth date 5. Birth place 6. social security number The personal information will be used by the State Department to conduct a security check for the events. This information is routinely collected as a safety precaution for events featuring any kind of presidential-level figure such as Mr. Mandela.
