I am also aware that the Northern Affairs Program at the Department of
Indian Affairs and Northern Development (a Canadian federal government
department) is preparing guidelines on the use of traditional =
knowledge.

Hello, In Canada the new Nunavut territorial government has  a =
comprehensive
TK
policy as does the the terrritorial governement of the Northwest
Territories.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Act  has provisions for TK. =
Denmark
and
the Netherlands have policy statements, as does Norway. The ADB has a =
policy
so
does the World Bank. UNDP is going to develop one (I think) and  the
Philippine
government passed an Indigenous People rights Act in Oct of 1998. There =
are
probably more, but it is early and I have not had my coffee yet!
