Escape the Rock on September 9th is also a GREAT race.  It's .5 mile swim, 11 mile bike, and 2.5 run.  The swim is along the I-90 bridge.  The bike leg runs along the express way and the run is pretty flat.  It usualy draws a crowd of 600+ and is great for those the ability (and love) to pound the bike.

I am planning on doing either the Titanium Man(1.5k/40k/10k) or Whiskey Dick(1m/36m/8.8m) on the 21-22 July weekend (respectively). Titanium man is cheaper ($25 by July 12 vs $50 by July 9) and is a downriver swim vs up then down river. On the other hand, Whiskey Dick has a great name, and there is

September has the Cour d'Alene on Sep 1 I may try to go to, and the Big Hurt in Port Angeles on Sep 23. There are both team and solo divisions for this 17m mtb/4.5mi kayak/40m rdbike/ 6 m run. Tons of events and details at

One has replied and said that they will send us as many registration packets as we need, and that they can arrange for us all to start in the same heat. I am confident that the second will be able to accomodate us as well. THe triathlons are:

It is closer, and the bike is longer(and this is where most of the Husky teammembers can do a lot of damage against our competitors). Also, I have never taken the Bainbridge Island ferry. Not only that, but it is a week before the other event, and I want to get started.
