In fact, it's part 1 or 2 parts. I checked the Aspen Website. As of today the March TOC isn't up on the Web, but you can check back periodically to see if it's up: http://www.aspenpublishers.com/jphmp.htm They haven't figured out that they can sell reprints right on the Web, but I guess that will come eventually. For those who might be interested, here's a list of some of the article titles: GIS and Public Health Policy: A New Frontier for Improving Community Health (Roper and Mays) Modern Geographic Information Systems - Promise and Pitfalls (Melnick and Fleming) Roundtable: Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Maps (Richards, Croner and Novick, eds) Getting Started with Geographic Information Systsems (GIS), Part 1 (Richards, Croner, and Novick, eds) series of nice articles: Your First Mapping Project on Your Own: From A to Z (McLafferty and Cromley); State Initiatives in Geocoding Vital Statistics Data (MacDorman and Gay); Methods to Evaluate Geographic Access to Health Services (Rushton); Geographic Information Systems (GIS and Community Health: Some Statistical Issues (Kulldorff). As a non-GIS person, I found the articles I scanned to be understandable. I expect the articles could be easily scanned and understood by managers or policy analysts - if you needed to persuade someone in your county that purchasing such a system would be in the county's best interests. Also the introductory articles are very good and the examples in the Maps section quite broad in scope. Lots of ideas, in fact, for what you can do with a GIS system. You can purchase individual issues for $25.00 each from Aspen. Phone Number: 1-800-234-1660 For reprint quantities under 100 copies, please call UMI at 1-800-248-0360 Disclaimer: This information is provided to inform you. I have no interest, financial or otherwise in Aspen. I'm not sure how many medical/public health libraries have the journal, but individual articles could be obtained through Interlibrary Loan through a medical or public library.
