Below is the most recent newsletter from Pastor John Paeng and family serving in Uzbekistan. Please continue to keep them in your prayers... Michelle Prayer for John Paeng March Greetings to all our fellow workers in Jesus Christ.=20 We are continuing in our efforts to do whatever we possibly can to serve here in Uzbekistan. We've now been here for a year and a half and are very settled and used to the living situation here. Thank you all at ANCC for continuing to intercede for us and our ministry here. Again I want to remind you of our resolve to mobilize the EM to the missions field and our vision for sharing the Gospel message along the Silk Road. I want to commend all of you to do whatever you absolutely possibly can to further the Gospel message here in Central Asia. Do not take your PRIVILEGE of serving and supporting our ministry here lightly or casually. It is our ministry as we partner together. I admonish you all to be more keen in looking for ways to work even more closely with us. Send us more workers, pray for us all the more fervently, support our ministry more concretely and keep us more closer to your hearts. Updates and prayer requests: 1)=09We have left ANF. With much prayer and agony we have decided to leave the ANF hospital team and the church for various reasons. I will share more with you upon my visit but suffice it to say that God is leading us towards the road less traveled. It would have been much easier and convenient for me to be a part of a team that is already successfully doing ministry, but God has challenged me to go out on my own and build up our own ministry and to pioneer our own future. Therefore, as comfortable as things were at ANF we've decided to go into unchartered waters and start from scratch. Please pray for strength and courage as Kate and I seek to build a team that will serve the Cultural Center together. Working with Koreans have not been the easiest of tasks because we work and think differently. So are now on our own. 2)=09We are very close to opening a Cultural Center!!! As I speak negotiations are underway with a local social services center to rent out some classrooms at their center. It would be free of cost and no rent needs to be paid. There are a lot of children and women who come to the center for training of all sorts of classes. They are willing to rent out 4 rooms for us as long as we don't charge for any courses and teach some to the children that come to the center from the neighboring areas. It's an excellent opportunity to start. The rooms are run down and needs a lot of renovation and as well we need chairs, tables, computers and other furnishings and office supplies to start. As of now we have nothing but our faith. It is just Kate and myself. We need workers to join our team. We need financial support to cover the start up costs. We need to pray for protection and safety. We need to pray for the right college students to come so that we can begin to build relationships and finally to plant a church with them. Please pray for all these things. We would love to see some ANCC workers commit to a year or so of working with us together at the Center. As well we would love to see some financial donations from our ANCC family. It would really encourage us. 3)=09At the beginning of the year Kate and I both decided to take in and nurture 3 disciples each. Please pray that we would be given opportunities to meet up with young men and women whom God has already prepared for us. We want to meet and disciple energetic, committed, and royal men and women who are will be the next generation of local leaders who will be responsible for bringing in the Gospel into Uz. Please pray for God's protection over our ministry and family. Many workers are being evicted from the country and are being denied entry visas. The situation has progressively gotten really bad since the beginning of 2004. Over 15 IACD members are being evicted or have already been evicted even as we speak right now. Please pray that our family, our work and our ministry would be protected from the evil one. 4)=09I am planning to come to visit the US and HQ is preparing my travel agenda as we speak and I hope to see you soon. I will be going to Tacoma, LA, San Fran, and New Jersey to do VS. Please pray that God would gird my lips and that I would powerfully proclaim the wonderful plan He has for the EM in the future.
