The Classics position has been requested from the College but has not yet been approved. The department will know ca. 15 November and will notify this website and the APA at once. In addition to teaching courses in elementary, intermediate, and advanced Latin and Greek, the successful candidate will teach various of the following courses: myth and folklore, Classical archaeology, women in antiquity, Greek and Latin literature in translation, and "Love and Sexuality in Literature and Art." The successful candidate will teach 6 course units each year plus Directed Readings in Greek and Latin. Courses will include existing Classics courses as appropriate to the successful candidate's teaching experience and interests in the Department's offerings. The Department's curriculum fosters cross-cultural exploration, discussion and writing about values and ideas, and comparative literature perspectives.
