Here's a definition I found: http://www.odessa.edu/dept/english/dmulry/Glossary/glossary.html Zeugma: a yoking of ideas around a common word (verb). "Stain her honour or her new Brocade." Used ironically (ironic juxtaposition) by Pope in his degraded mock epic form. Surface appearance of balance or equality, often much compromised by the inherent inequalities of the ideas or values that are being combined.
