Chances are, the person who sent this out (and probably has NO idea he did) 
maintained the mailing list in his address book. I've heard conflicting 
reports that it uses all addresses in one's Outlook mail program...the one 
Internet Explorer uses, and that it will run from ANY mail program that 
utilizes an address book function.
So, whoever sent, had no idea they did. They downloaded it onto their own 
computer from someone else, and then the virus mailed itself out to everyone 
on the person's mailing list. Unfortunate....but I'm virtually certain there 
was no malice. 
Unless someone on this list has said something particularly offensive.....:)
Be careful with this virus, it can be pretty nasty.
