The day will be one of three days dealing with nontimber forest product issues in the Pacific Northwest. The conference is primarily geared to regional land managers and field administrators, but is open to anyone. Speakers are encouraged to present material that can be readily applied by conference attendees. Due to unforeseen circumstances the time to organize this session if short. We need to have topics finalized and most of the speakers arranged no later than August 1, 2001. Several broad themes under which speakers might be grouped are: - Strategies and Issues of Market-Oriented Forest Conservation -Concerns over Commercialization of Indigenous Medicinal Plant Resources -Cultural Preferences for Plant Parts and Uses: Implications for Conservation -Increasing Government Regulation: Implications for Local Land Use -Other?
