The minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree. Teaching (TESOL/TEFL) experience and training are preferred, YMCA volunteers, members, and staff are encouraged to apply. Motivation to share cultures and build international understanding is also important. The application deadline is April 15 for October 1 placement. The teacher's time commitment begins the end of September with an orientation in the U.S. and another in Taiwan before October 1 placement in a local YMCA. The minimum commitment is for one year.
