These internships are available only to students who will retain their undergraduate or graduate status until the end of the internship for which they apply. As the Pacific Northwest's premier gateway for international trade, the Port of Seattle maintains modern, first-class facilities at its seaport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Bell Harbor International Conference Center, Fishermen's Terminal and Shilshole Bay Marina. It also operates an extensive system of warehousing and distribution services. Internship positions at the Port of Seattle are designed to provide qualified candidates with meaningful work experiences to supplement and enhance their academic program while the Port derives the full benefit of the student's capabilities to assist in a department's normal work activities or with special projects and events. In addition, the internships enable students to establish effective working relationships with professional staff which may be beneficial for their future career development.
