But I assume since I got this, my name is on some list - perhaps the college is the actual member. Anyway - I wanted you to know that the Prospect Research 101 sounds wonderful! I'll be anxious to hear when it is and from the sounds of some of the messages posted to the list, there are others who would love to attend this. Thank you. -----Original Message----- From: Lisa Thomas [mailto:thomasl@u.washington.edu] Sent: Monday, October 16, 2000 11:44 AM To: apra-nw@u.washington.edu Subject: Fall Meeting Review APRA-NW held its annual Fall meeting on Friday, October 6 at the University of Washington Office of Development in downtown Seattle. The turnout was surprisingly large (about 20 people) given the fact that the meeting time overlapped directly with a Mariner's playoff game. Attendees enjoyed a prospect research vocabulary networking game, brainstormed meeting/program ideas for the upcoming year and heard about three very interesting sessions from the national conference held in July, 2000 (in Anaheim, CA). The programming committee is busy working with all the ideas generated, which include (but are not limited to) a session on planned giving, a prospect research 101 training and a full day (or more) conference in the spring featuring internet and invisible web guru Gary Price and an expert on search engines. Excited about these ideas? Have others? If you would like to help plan a meeting please contact Cindy McRoberts (cmcrob@nwwlc.org) and she'll make sure you get involved. We're all geared up for a great year, with 57 paid members to date (18 of whom are new!). Those lucky folks (and anyone else who renews quickly) will be included in the membership directory (to be published as soon as we find 1 more volunteer - is it you?). Lisa Thomas .
