(April 16th) Date: Sat, 04 Apr 1998 21:28:35 -0800 From: Peter VanVleet For those of you new to our ranks, you may or may not be aware that we have a velodrome in our backyard. Since there are only 20 or so velodromes in the country, this represents a unique racing opportunity. Traditionally, the Husky Racing team has been very strong on the track, winning the national track title two years ago and coming in a close second last year. The track is a lot of fun, and I encourage you all to give it a shot. Before you can start racing at the track, you need to take a track skills class. All the information is available at: http://www.iscn.com/marymoor If you're a beginner you can take the Basic Skills class, which costs $40. If you're a cat 4 or higher on the road, you can take the advanced track class, which is slightly shorter and only costs $20. If you're a women, they have special women only classes that are FREE! So you really should take advantage of this and come out and at least try the classes. The classes start as early as April 16th. So now's the time to start thinking about them.
