Ever heard the version of "Gimme That Old Time Religion" sung by
Pete Seegar and others?  It has verses about Aphrodite and her
see-through nightie, etc.  I have the words around somewhere
in a songbook used by my daughter's Girl Scout troop for
Christmas caroling.  (No, they decided not to sing that one.)

Which reminds me: Diana Wright drew our attention to a Greek
organization trying to reclaim their ancestral ways.  I wonder if
they offer due honor to Gemistos Plethon (C.M. Woodhouse's book
on whom, by the way, has been reissued by the very helpful
Sandpiper folks).
